I do like the smaller crowds in the past few years. b/c I am able to sit almost anywhere, and move around freely, w/o being challenged by the ushers.
Oh, that's right. I forgot I was by the pen in Game 3 of the 1997 Division Series.
That's the night that David Wells was taunted with chants of "Orson....Orson....Orson" as he warmed up in the Yankee pen.
I guess you can still sit by one side of the visitor's pen. The other side has a Budweiser party area, I believe. And you can stand above the Indians pen in center, and yell down to the players. But they sit under a covered area.

If Scott Maine had been assigned to Lake County instead of Columbus, you could have had some chow and watched Maine....

Oakland loves us. They were just 7 games over .500 when they met us ten days ago. After seven easy victories over us they have their staff in order, and are now 16 games over .500.
Again again, there opening day payroll was $23,000,000 less what Antonetti and the front office were given to dish out....

Funny, the above is a link to a July 9 article titled:
Best MLB Teams with Lowest Team Payrolls Heading into 2012 All-Star Break: Fan’s Observation
We were first on the list at $78, 430,300.
Tampa Bay Rays $64,173,000
Oakland was 5th at $55,372,500

While the results are not primarily his fault, I do not think it fair to absolve him of all blame either. He obviously has lost the team as these prima donnas-That means you Santana and Perez-have lost any interest in competing. He needs to go along with eveyone owner on down. Unfortunately the new deal with ESPN just about make it a forgone conclusion that Dolan would never sell. Why would he unless he was given an unbelievable offer and who would do that? Essentially what I am saying is all is lost.
The thing about "losing the team" is that after a certain point, it becomes a self-fullfilling prophecy. The players have tuned Acta out because they suspect he won't be coming back, which leads to worse play, which leads to certainty he won't be coming back.
I don't think most of this is Acta's fault, but it's obvious he can't stay. To his credit, he's enough of a professional that he realizes that and isn't going to be a jackass about it.
I still remember the last Friday night of the 1991 season, aka the worst season in Indians history, when September callup Jim Thome won a game with his first major league homer against the Yankees. Basically, the only reason to pay attention to the rest of the season is the hope that something like that might happen again.
All we need now is a young player the caliber of Thome. Hell, right now I'd settle for the second coming of a young Von Hayes.

We had a great time at the Captains game last night. They won 11-4. I wish the Tribe games were that enjoyable!

I'd say it's once in a blue moon that a team goes 5-24 in a month.
We're down 3-0 in the 4th, and tonight happens to be a rare blue moon (the second full moon of the calendar month, which is rare).

This is twice this week I have heard our announcers mispronounce a Northeastern Ohio city.
The other night they were mentioning a fan in Louisville (near Alliance) and pronounced the town in the same way as the Kentucky Derby town. After all these years in Ohio, Cleveland announcers should know the townspeople pronounce Louisville OH phonetically as "Lewis ville."
Moments ago they mentioned Solon OH. Commonly accepted local pronunciation has the accent on the first syllable. Tonight our announcer made it "So LAWN."
I should keep typing gibberish. The Tribe is hitting and scoring as I have been typing this post...

Choo cruises into 2nd on a drive hitting the RF wall.
And an early count lame grounder by Kipnis ends our inning and leaves Choo in scoring position.
At least we now have two hits through 5.
