Leland transplants Marte with Phil Coca Cola. Coke pitches from the southern side.

Coke stems the tide for Detroit. Middle of 7. 9-6 Tribe with the lead.

Coke with a steady diet of high fastballs to LaPorta as Matt went down swinging. Matt not able to catch up to the fastballs is now 2-11 with a sub-.200 batting average now. It's not easy getting off to a slow start and having to build up the average. Kotchman is a good example. So is Damon.

Joe Smith gets the call from the bullpen to start the Tiger stretch inning.

Tom Hamilton says that LaPorta has had a couple of quality at bats tonight. Hard hit balls.

Holaday grounds out for out number 1 in the Tiger 7th.

Like I posted, I'm really hoping that LaPorta does well this time around. I was hoping for a better start if for no other reason than to build up some confidence. These slow starts have got to be playing mind games with him.

Back to a righty in Benoit for Detroit. Time to pick up another insurance run or two.
