I get a kick out of some of the pictures of some of these kids we sign. So little and young. But you never know when the next Lindor or Colon will be coming.

By the way, Civ, my wife and I will be leaving tomorrow for a long holiday weekend away. Going to a cabin at a remote lake in mountains out here.
I won't have any cell phone or internet access. Nor will I have a television or phone. Going to do some kayaking and fishing. Hiking. Horseback riding. Just a nice quiet holiday getting in touch with nature and not having to listen to the neighbors bottle rockets... My shih tzus will appreciate that. They hate this time of year. Scares them to death. They'd rather bark at moose and bear. They aren't afraid of them. Dumb dogs.
So hopefully you can carry the mail the next several days. I would sure look forward to reading the updates when I eventually get a chance.

No. Haven't touched that since I was a young man. Puts me to sleep.
I do have a bottle of Belvedere vodka (breakfast), a bottle of Fortaleza tequila (lunch), and a bottle of Eagle Rare bourbon (dinner).

Clippers lose to Charlotte 4-1 to split the 4 game series 2-2. Too bad, I wanted to rub it in to our ole buddy UD. ... Defense didn't help Pasquale. 3.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K. ... Naquin went 1-4, a solo homer. Bring him up! ... My boy Yandy not in lineup again. Has had quad problems. He needs to stretch more and lift less. He's not a nose tackle. ... Grube starts tomorrow.
I ran down Akron earlier. Peoples starts tomorrow.
Salem beat Lynchburg 6-5 in 14 innings. They still have a lame nickname. Red Sox. Very creative. ... Triston Mc-K was good as usual. 5.1 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K. ... Lineras pitched 2 shutout innings. He has a 1.02 ERA now. ... Marabell was 0-7 with 5 K's. Are you shitting me? That is an extra special kind of shitty. I'm officially writing him off. ... Castro 1-6 with a double. ... TBD to start tomorrow.
Great Lakes beat Lake County 10-4 Good Buddy. Breaker breaker. Got your ears on? ... Chu 0-3. ... Gavin Collins, continues opening eyes, going 2-3. ... Ice went 1-4. I'm done following him too. Got to start thinning my work load. ... Tully starts tomorrow ... Go Buckeyes!
Scrappers beat Black Bears 6-3. ... Zach Plesac was pretty damn dominating. He is one to keep an eye on. 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K. Funny, Aiken comes back from TJ surgery and nowhere near his old self. Plesac comes back and nobody can touch him. You just never know. ... Berardi 2-5 with double. ... Oscar G 3-4 with 2 RBI. He has a hit in all 7 games. ... Nolan Jones 1-4 with a homer. I told you that double was a start, Civ! ... Simeon Lucas, who by the way played 1st base, has he been moved off catcher or doing both? Anyway, Lucas went 2-3 with a double and a homer. Keep hitting like that and they'll find a spot for you. ... Perez starts tomorrow.
DSL Indians 5 DSL Rangers 4 ... J. Lopez 2-4. Kid wakes up hitting. ... Gonzalez 1-4.

I'll take charge for as long as required, Hillbilly, you've relieved me of much of the Minors burden this year. I'll be turning it back to you for half of July when I'll be out of the country.
Meanwhile, glad to see Nolan Jones starting to hit. He's a big 6-4 kid playing 3rd base and had a better rating than Benson when we drafted both. No reason he can't become a top prospect.
Something must be bothering Sicnarf, not on the DL but not in the lineup the past few days either.
Simeon Lucas is another C-1b-dh with power. Not the most promising of prospect classes so it's entirely up to his bat. Same as namesake Jeremy Lucas, playing a little bit with Columbus, or Loopstok or Joe's old favorite Matt McBride. We'll see.

Interesting stats line posted by BA for Oscar Gonzalez at:
http://www.baseballamerica.com/statisti ... r-gonzalez
they seem to have a preview of his entire season, it shows his 2017 line with Mahoning Valley [which has only played 10 games this summer] as follows:
36 games
152 AB 16 runs 56 hits an amazing 40 RBI 4 doubles, 8 homers only 4 walks 28 K [which would be much better than 57 in 2016]
368/375/553
[in reality, divide all the above by 4 and you get his actual 9-game stats. So he really is striking out less and singling more. Since he's a 19 year old in a mostly college level league numbers anything remotely like this are quite impressive]

Whatever is bothering Loopstok must not be too bad. He came into last nights game late as a pinch hitter and stayed in when it went into extra innings. He was 1-2. I didn't mention it cause it was a limited role.

Yes, Oscar has been impressive early on. Hard to get excited about guys in lower levels but I think he may end up one to watch in the future.
We have another guy in lower levels, I think in DSL if I remember correctly, named Gonzalez. Michael. So to avoid confusion I will refer to Oscar by his first name in my rundowns.

Just found out there is a lodge around the corner of the lake from our cabin. Has a bar, restaurant, and wifi. That is very cool. I'll make a point to get over there for a meal or couple drinks every day so I can check in on how the Indians and farm teams have done. Whether we win or lose I will be telling my wife that we beat Detroit. What she doesn't know won't kill her. Look forward to your updates, Civ. Thanks. Where are you going on your vacation?

Switzerland. We'll try not to fall off any mountains. My wife suggested we go now before we cannot hike around. I may have no access to baseball stats at all for awhile, but I've learned to live without when necessary.
