Hillbilly: Do you have any idea how we identify "our guys" on the Indians'/Brewers joint enterprise? I don't want to root for the wrong players

was 2-4 with 2 homers, a walk, and an OF assist. Where did this guy come from?
Aruba.

He'd missed a good chunk of the past couple seasons with injuries I don't recall the nature of. So at age 24 he's old for the Carolina League. And he is apparently not a defensive whiz, he rotates between catcher, first base, left field and DH. But he can hit. He's been all about power in June, with 7 homers, a triple, 3 doubles. also a dozen walks. So his line in June: 266/402/595

Sicnarf Loopstok registered his first multi-homer game since August 7, 2014, but his two solo blasts accounted for the only Lynchburg offense in a 5-2 defeat at Salem Monday night.

lynchburg hillcatsLoopstok, who hit 44 home runs at Salem Memorial Ballpark last Monday while participating in the Home Run Derby, looked very comfortable launching a ball over the left-field fence in the fourth inning to give the Hillcats a 1-0 advantage. Jordan Bettsanswered, though, with a two-run homer in the home half to move Salem in front, 2-1. The Red Sox added three more in the fifth, highlighted by a Jose Sermo two-run single.

In the top of the sixth, Loopstok left the yard yet again. A towering fly ball over the center field fence served as his team-leading 11th home run and 39th RBI of the season. It represented the second multi-homer performance by a Hillcat after Jodd Carter hit two home runs at Frederick June 17.

Shao-Ching Chiang (7-5) suffered the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings. It marked the first time Chiangfailed to go at least five innings in 2017. He struck out three and walked one. Shaun Anderson (1-1) earned his first victory at the Advanced-A level by limiting the ‘Cats to two runs on four hits in six innings. Trevor Kelley notched his seventh save with a scoreless ninth frame.

Shane Bieber (3-1, 3.32) was named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week earlier in the day, and he will be the starter Tuesdaynight at Salem at 7:05 p.m. Bieber will face Roniel Raudes (2-3, 4.95). The game can be heard live at www.lynchburg-hillcats.com.

In the fifth, Cantu hit a solo home run, while Cantu hit an RBI single in the sixth.Mahoning Valley starter Felix Tati (1-1) picked up the win after allowing just three hits over five scoreless innings. Civ, I started to answer this question for you last time you asked but the answer was so long and drawn out I didn't know if you'd find it worth the trouble. But here is what I do ...

I go to their MiLB web site ... http://www.milb.com/index.jsp?sid=t617

Click on "DSL Indians/Brewers Stats »" ... takes you here ... http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.js ... 7&sid=milb

Click on a players name and you will see their lifetime stats, and that almost always tells you whose system they've been in.

For example, there is a catcher named Bryan Torres who is hitting .354. Oh, I wonder if he is an Indian, so I click on his name. And I see this ...

YEAR TEAM LG LEVEL G AB R H TB 2B 3B HR RBI BB IBB SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS GO/AO
2015 DSL BRW DSL ROK 8 28 4 7 9 0 1 0 4 4 0 2 2 0 .250 .344 .321 .665 1.11

He is a Brewers player who was with their DSL team the previous 2 seasons...

There is a RF'er named Christopher Cespedes who is hitting .318, so I click on his name and see ...

YEAR TEAM LG LEVEL G AB R H TB 2B 3B HR RBI BB IBB SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS GO/AO
2015 DSL IND DSL ROK 65 210 21 44 73 11 3 4 28 21 0 64 1 3 .210 .300 .348 .648 1.14

... he has been in Indians system previous 2 years.

Another who caught my eye is a pitcher, Jahir Varela, who has not allowed a run in 4 games, 3 starts. .167 average against and 0.85 WHIP. Happy to say he is under Indians control.

I wish there was an easier way but that's all I got...

Thanks Hillbiilly, that makes sense, but there could be some kids in their first year, who we won't be able to ID. But we'll find out next year.

You are correct. But fortunately so far all the kids doing good who have made me want to look are on the 2nd or 3rd year.

Well the Tribe may have had a snoozer tonight but lots of great stuff from down on the farm.

Clip Show beat that lousy Knights team again 5-0 on the back of yet another great outing by Morimando. A CGShO. 9 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 12 K. This is his second complete game shutout in his last 3 outings. He's allowed 6 runs his last 5 starts. 14 runs in his last 9 starts. After a slow start he is really looking good. ... Naquin went 1-5 with 4 K. OK, I won't be pounding the table for a call up for a bit. ... Almonte 3-5 with 2 doubles. ... Narveson starts tomorrow.

Da Ducks beat the SeaWolves 10-4 good buddy. ... Pannone was pretty solid again. 6 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 6 K. ... But the big story here tonight is from the big man, Bobby Bradley. 3-5 with 3 homers and 7 RBI. He had two 3 run bombs and a solo shot. ... Papi was 0-3 with a walk, run and RBI. ... Mejia 2-4 with RBI. ... Whitehouse takes mound tomorrow.

Hillkitties beats Salem 8-3 on yet another good outing from Da Biebs. 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K. ... Marabell 2-4 with a double, walk, and SB. ... Civale starts tomorrow.

Captain my Captain beats the Loons 4-3. ... Aiken actually got good results even though he was wild as hell again. 4 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 6 BB, 4 K, and he hit the mascot twice. ... Ben Krauth pitched 2 scoreless innings again. 2 hits 2 K's. ERA is 1.74. Only thing I can figure is he only has two pitches cause I can't figure out why they don't try him at starter more. He is pretty damn dominating. ... Last year draft pick Mitch Longo was 2-4 and is hitting .357 now. ... Soto 2-4 with 2 doubles. ... Collins 1-4. ... Ice 1-3 with another homer. ... Hillman toes the rubber tomorrow.

Scrappers was off tonight. Vasquez pitches tomorrow.
