Rodriguez, who finished 7-for-8 on the day, belted a go-ahead home run in the eighth.
LRod's day included two doubles and two homers. He was not too long back a pretty well rated prospect. He's still only 24 and his avg is now at 286 after the big day. He still doesn't walk, only 3 compared to 23 strikeouts and that will keep him off the prospect lists.

Akron is playing early, and Mejia does it again. Hits a solo shot in the 1st. His 3rd homer in last 14 hours. Not Scooter Gennett but still damn good.

Victor Martinez type bat behind the plate coming for us...

Sea Dogs turn around and score 3 of their own to take lead. Pannone is not pitching again today. I don't get it, he was scheduled two days ago when it rained out. Maybe he warmed up hard before game was called and they decided to just have a bullpen session that day.

Another home run today for F. Mejia. Aiming for a return to the hot prospects list. Last nights 2 homer 6 rbi game did not rate a daily highlight.
Pannone not pitching today, its Pasquale.

2 singles and a walk so far today for Bobby Bradley. For June: hitting 357 with only one homer.

Bradley has 2 singles and a walk today. He's hitting .357 in June but only one homer.

another bomb for Mejia, 4 in 2 days, 7 for the season. Kind of like the career day for Scooter Genette a couple days ago, but Frankie's is over 2 days. He had a little burst of power last summer too, on his way to a career high of 11 homers.

Hillbilly, your post and mine on Bradley read kind of similarly. I'm glad to see him working on some of the smaller things at the plate; everyone knows he can hit homers, he needs to establish he can hit with more consistency and be selective.

Yeah, Civ. That was my smart ass way of letting you know you should read all the posts here cause you posted something very similar to what I posted just 2 posts before yours.

This Akron game was absolutely cRaZy.

So Akron scores 5 runs in the 8th to take an 8-5 lead. Then in btm of 8 Lineras, who has been great this year, blew it so spectacularly that it left a mushroom cloud. He allows 8 earned runs, and Portland scores 9 total to win the game 14-8.

Krieger went 1-4 with yet another double, his 4th in two days. He also had a stolen base.

Mejia was 2-5 with the 2 homers that was mentioned. 3 RBI.

Bradley 2-4 with a walk. And Chang the same, 2-4 with walk.

Clippers game has ended too. They played Louisville, again. And lost 3-0.

Plutko wasn't too bad. 6.1 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K.

Almonte went 0-3 in his rehab.

Yandy was 1-4. Papi 1-3.

While Civ & I were posting the same thing about Frankie I don't think either one of us mentioned that he is now batting .346, which leads the Eastern League.
