Yup, and speaking of the Biebs, he is the TBD who is starting for Lynchburg today.

Source: #Indians OF prospect Greg Allen possibly suffered a broken hamate bone today in 2nd game of DH for Akron. (2nd opinion tomorrow)
Hope for the best...

What is a bit weird is usually when you hear a guy has a broken hamate bone it almost always comes from a HBP. Yes? But as I look at boxscore the only HBP for Akron was Bradley getting plunked. So I will be interested in finding out how Allen broke his hamate - if indeed it is broken, but lets hope not - when he didn't get hit by a pitch. Got to be something out of the ordinary.

What I see from the play by play is he led off the nightcap grounding out, and then was replaced in the bottom of the inning. Maybe he whacked into the first baseman racing to the bag?

That was a great idea, Civ. Good catch. ... I bet he slid into 1st base head first. I don't know why guys do that. Injury waiting to happen. But he could have had a collision too, yes.

Civ, I just saw your post in the other folder about Pannone. I did see where he is listed as the starter for Akron tonight. But the listed starters on the websites have been screwed up last couple days so I didn't post it. Thought I'd wait till they get their crap together.

I think he'd be on his normal rest today, so good chance it's right.
It looks the big break for Pannone was Kluber hurting his back which got the dominos falling: Clevinger to Cleveland, which he'd earned anyway; Peoples to Columbus, Merryweather has been better but he's still pretty new to AA; Pannone to Akron; and Bieber to Lynchburg, which we were both waiting for. Tully who'd been working as the back-end of piggybacking starters got his first legit start for the Captains and kept up his very good work.

As a 26th round draft pick from college [Ohio State] I imagine Tully is not graded a real prospect. He's a not so smallish lefty [6-0 200] and his stats as a pro have been just fine:
2.10 ERA this year, 1 homer and 2 walks in 25 2/3 innings. Just over 1 k per inning.
1.17 ERA last season with the Scrappers, only struck out 26 in 46 innings, so something's working better this year.

Since Tito insists Diaz will be up to be in the lineup several days a week, I wonder where that means he fits in.
Could just be a temporary role while Brantley's ankle calms down.
And/or Jackson returns.

If he hits, they won't take him out of the lineup.

MiLB app just told me Akron game is about to start and that Pannone is indeed starting.
I'm glad Cavs are off tonight. I'll be busy enough watching Yandy and Tribe and keeping a watchful eye on that Akron score.
Like I said when season started, Yandy needs to hit well enough that they can't take him out of lineup. Like Jose last year. If he hits at a 250 clip again he won't be long for majors again. Even though 250 against lefties would still be a major improvement over most of the guys in our lineup...
