Pluto brings up a good point this morning about the Brewers not only shopping Lucroy but have a few interesting relievers available too.
Will Smith, lefty, is very good against lefties. And Tyler Thornberg is a very interesting righty too. Jeffries, their closer, is OK but I'd pass on him.

6558Melvin Upton - OF - Padres
Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Orioles and Blue Jays are the leaders in the pursuit of Melvin Upton.
The interest in Upton has certainly intensified in the past day or so, and it's looking increasingly likely that he'll be wearing a new uniform in August.
While a park shift away from Petco Park could seem like a boon to his fantasy value, he hasn't handled changes of scenery well in the past, and isn't likely to land with a manager as willing to run as Andy Green has been this season.

6561Isn't that kind of unusual, a young hitter hits off speed better than fastballs?

Re: General Discussion
6562Most lefty batters like the ball down so this probably isn't too crazy. Every team knows he has a hard time laying off the high fastball too so he sees his share.

Re: General Discussion
6569I somehow missed the big news that Joe Colon went on the DL. I'll be surprised if he ever returns, but then I was surprised they brought him up once. Cody Anderson is back [didn't realize he had gone away] and Francona is quoted as saying he'll probably stay. [cannot get the actual story copied and pasted from the PD.] The story notes that Zach Mac will spend a little more time in his rehab before he returns. Then who do we unload? Erik Gonzalez, I guess, since we have an "extra" man on the bench at present.
Haven't seen anything on how long we'll miss the valuable Tommy Hunter while he recovers from picking his kid up over the all-star break. They should have contractual language prohibiting players from engaging such risky behaviors.

As the Yankees have talked with the Indians about their relievers, they've discussed shortstop Yu-Cheng Chang.
