Lynchburg wins tonight 3-1. And I think this was just a 3 game series. If so its over as Hillcats win their 2nd.
Krieger had a walk. Frankie had a K. Santanders had a double. Bradley had a walk.

Akron wins game three 9-4.
Allen was 1-3 with 2 walks.
Yan Gomes was 1-4 with a double and a walk.
Mike Papi was 3-5 with another freakin homer and 5 RBI. It's not too late for Papi. I've seen The Natural.
Kaminsky gives up 6 hits 3 walks and 4 earned in 5 innings.

The eastern league and international league series' are both best of 5.
It is 2 at one park then 3 at other.
So Akron just has to win 1 of remaining 2 games at home to advance to finals.
Columbus has to win both remaining games on the road. (Lawrenceville, GA)
I will be at UFC fights tonight in Cleveland so if anybody else is around maybe you could update us.

My Lord no, UD! I'd be killed.
Just going to be watching Cleveland's own, Stipi Miocic, defend his world heavyweight championship!
Then going to visit family for several days, then returning to Cleveland to watch Tribe take on Tigers Friday and Saturday, and to watch Browns-Ravens Sunday.
Hell of a great vacation. I'm excited!

Baseball America Post season all star awards...
Yandy Diaz at 3B in AAA
Nobody made AA team.
Anthony Santander in OF at high A. Bobby Bradley at DH.
Nobody at low A
Triston McKenzie at P for short season.
How good is the catcher for the Orioles system that he keeps Frankie Mejia off team?!?!

The league all star teams are voted by each league's managers or whoever. Maybe Mejia only being in each league for 1/2 the season cut his chances. But far more impressive than what Frankie didn't win is his award by Baseball America as the All-Star catcher on its all classification all star time, picked by the BA "experts"
C Francisco Mejia • Indians
Low Class A Lake County (Midwest) • High Class A Lynchburg (Carolina)
Mejia hit safely in 50 straight games from May 27 to Aug. 13. His streak spanned two different leagues and stretched farther than any other player during the modern, post-1962 history of the minor leagues. The 20-year-old Dominican might have hit in 50 straight games for two different organizations had the rumored trade-deadline deal to the Brewers for Jonathan Lucroy not been scuttled. The switch-hitting Mejia batted .342/.382/.514 at two Class A stops this season while recording a higher average and OPS (.896) than any minor league catcher except the Orioles’ Yermin Mercedes. He also gunned down 43 percent of basestealers.
AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS
407 63 139 29 4 11 80 28 63 2 2 .342 .382 .514 .896

double and homer by the Minor League's All Star catcher Francisco Mejia plate all 3 Hillcat runs as Lynchburg loses 5-3 to fall behind 3-1 in their series. 2 singles by Tyler Krieger; double plus 2 singles by Yu-Chiang Chang. Mitch Brown takes the loss in relief, 3 runs on his account in 1 inning, Matt Whitehouse helped out by letting two of them score when he relieved. I guess the series is best of 7, but perhaps it's done already[?]
Akron took 2-0 game lead behind an excellent outing by Rob Kaminsky: 6 2/3 walk-free innings, 8 K, 2 runs.
Offense led by 26-year-old Akron veteran Jordan Smith with 2 doubles, a walk, a single, 2 steals: quite possibly the finale of his very undistinguished minor league career.
