With his good arm I was kind of thinking of Diaz as a platoon player in RF with Chisenhall. And getting a little playing time when Kip or Lindor gets a day off. (Playing 3rd with Ramirez scooting over)
Almonte is performing pretty good offensively but there comes a time when you have to start thinking about giving someone some experience before the playoffs when he wont be available. And it has to be before Aug. 31st.

Still on the Scrappers, last pitched on the 12th. He's been working every 5 or 6 days since he started with Arizona. I suppose he pitched for U of Kansas this summer he probably had plenty of innings already and is being coddled; as they do for most college signees their first summer.

None of ours on this week's Hot Prospects List. They like to share the glory and none of our guys were super-hot this week although Bradley hit 3 homers, Krieger and Santander did well as usual. Bieber has been perfect but not too many innings. McKenzie is less overwhelming in Lake County but he's now racking up a solid 6 innings per start with more than a K per inning at the advanced level, even if he's not a lefthander he's looking very promising and is moving along at the same pace as Sabathia did with perhaps equal height and about half the weight.

OK, so not quite the same career path for McKenzie, since CC reached High A as an 18 year old. Both not to different:
Age 17: Sabathia in Rookie League 18 innings, 20 hits, 9 ER, 8 walks, 35 strikeouts
Age 17: McKenzie in Rookie League: 14 innings, 4 hits, 1 ER, 3 walks, 17 strikeouts
Age 18: Sabathia in Mahoning Valley 20 innings 9 hits 4 ER 12 walks, 27 strikeouts
Age 18: McKenzie in Mahoning Valley 49 innings 31 hits 3 ER 16 walks 55 strikeouts
Age 18: Sabathia in Low A 17 innings 8 hits 2 ER 5 walks 20 strikeouts
Age 18: McKenzie in Low A 18 innings 14 hits 9 ER 1 walk 26 strikeouts
Age 18: Sabathia in High A 32 innings 30 hits 19 ER 19 walks 29 strikeouts

Clips win 11-5 tonight. Yandy & Zimmer both with nice games at the plate.
Ducks win 4-1 on the back of a very nice outing by Kaminsky. Papi homered. Miracles do still happen. ... Greg Allen is in the midst of a slump. Average down to .274.
Lynchburg wins 5-2. Frankie hitless again but did walk and score twice. Santander and Krieger provided the offense. Bradley 0'fer and now hitting .246. Just my totally worthless opinion, but fear he is way over-rated. But has alot of power and is young so we'll see. Just reminds me of Branyan.
Captains win 3-2. Shane with a nice outing. Jodd Carter actually went hitless. I jinxed him.
Scrappers win 9-2 to complete a sweep for the entire organization tonight. All teams 6-0 tonight. ... Krauth came, saw, and kicked ass. Hide your ladies, Batavia. Krauth is in town. Gabe Mejia 3-5 with 2 stolen bases. Guy hitting second must have hit a first pitch or else he would have had 3. Calica with a couple hits and is now hitting .369 ... Logan Ice bat remains cold. .186 on year.

Kaminsky has really turned his season around. He came in rated No. 9 prospect by BA. Around midseason he was rated the "biggest disappointment". Turnaround came in mid-June:
From April 1 to June 14: 45 IP 50H 26ER 22BB 29K ERA: 5.20 WHIP: 1.60 K/BB: 1.32
From June 19 to today:75 2/3 IP 60H 18ER 19BB 54K ERA: 2.14 WHIP: 1.04 K/BB: 2.84

When they were interviewing Naquin after Friday's game, His shoulders and arms were huge. Always thought of him as a scrawny CF with a bat of singles and some doubles.

McKenzie's best effort in Lake County today. He's been pitching fine, but today's line was like what he did for Mah Valley:
5 2/3 innings, 4 hits, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts. No runs.
