They haven't been doing a lot of big signings themselves lately. Still saddled with ARod contract for years; when do Teixara and CC come off the books?

Sabathia:
What the Yankees are left with now is a pitcher who averages fewer than six innings per start and is owed roughly $40.1 million through 2017 (assuming NYY takes the buyout on his contract).
Teixara: 2016 Contract $22,500,000

Amazing what PEDS can do, eh?
Even if he is off the steroids for now, the HGH must be worth the investment.

HGH is tested year round, starting in 2013.

But I think some players might have found something else that escapes detection.

They may have agreed to testing in 2013, but I am not sure they have actually implemented an in season HGH test.
HGH testing requires blood samples, not urine samples, and detection requires sampling within 48 hours after dosing- for most cases. Logistically, in season (or in competition) testing for HGH is very difficult to accomplish.
The NFL and the CBA agree on the need for testing, but still has not come to an agreement on a protocol and standards for implementing a HGH test, although after the Gordon pot debacle of last fall, some changes were made to the HGH policy, I think.
I have actually been wondering if the current emergence of pitching over hitting, from a cynical 'everyone does PEDs' point of view, is due to HGH's ability to speed recovery following intense muscle activity - such as throwing 100 pitches.

Interesting tidbit:
In the wake of Carlos Carrasco's second foiled bid for a no-hitter this season, it should be noted that Indians pitchers lead the big leagues 649 no-hit innings this season. Ten times the Indians have taken no-hitters through the fifth inning. .

I wonder how many times the Indians haven't got any hits through 5 innings.
How many games have they had 5 hits or less in a game this season?
