To be clear, in no way would I consider dealing Masterson and Asdrubal "raising the white flag".
Both have been HUGE disappointments and major reasons for the mediocrity so far.
Add Kipnis, Swisher and Bourn to that list. Kipnis was looking like the offensive lynchpin to this team last year, but has come up mostly empty this year.
What's the difference if Asdrubal is replace by Aviles/Jose Ramirez? At least Ramirez has speed.

HB - obviously a sucking Masterson, free in a few months, will not command Oscar Taveras. That said, it's easy to see why they'd take a shot on a 2012 first rounder who is hitting .300, slugging .527 and .OPS of .916, .OBP of .389 in the year 2014 - two years later.
Time will tell.

@jjcoop36: Obviously Cardinals could trade an OF since they have such a surplus. That being said, I think Ramsey becomes Indians' 2nd best OF prospect
@BerniePleskoff: Haven't seen Zimmer- Frazier (longer-term) Naquin and then Ramsey. Those 3 and Brantley form a solid outfield. Frazier furthest away.

Ramsey was a former Seminole. I guess that means he is joining former teammate, Tyler Holt, in Columbus.
I like Holt. I think I'm the only one tho.

Well great, if he doesn't get his strikeouts down he can at least help the players with their crossword puzzles on the road.

@TonyIBI: And that Murphy comp for Ramsey is not a bad thing. Looks like he will be a solid, complementary type with extraordinary makeup.
