Carrera is still in learning mode. His throw tailed to the first base side. It didn't look that bad when it left his hand.

I played 1st base, 3rd base and occasionally catcher on a couple of beer league softball teams into my late 30's. We had two or three guys on our team who had played college baseball and had screwed around with curve balls and other pitches along the way,

When their hard throws were coming at me at the plate or the 1st base bag, the movement was just as tough to decipher as a line drive to left center field.

We played a good game against a good team tonight.

Better to lose these out-of-division than in-division.
