We get to the last game before the break holding first place by 1/2 of a game.

We've played 88.

Detroit and Chicago have each played 91.

Hard to have imagined this when we were down 14-0 in the season opener.

And the amazing thing is Carmona, Choo and Sizemore really haven't been that much of a factor.

Despite my griping about LaPorta and Santana seeming to compete for the boneheaded plays of the week honors on a regular basis, the season thus far has been well above my expectations.

Tribe already down, 5-0 in the 3rd. But, hey, it's early...

7-1 now, top of 7th. How the hell is this team in first place?

Acta and the players took an early all-star break! one series early.
How can you keep feeding Bautista pitches to hit.

Acta cost the Tribe the Saturday game.

Even as the leadoff batter, you walk Batista. He only was killing anything over the plate the entire series.

Dumb managing there.

He's ready for Cleveland. We ought to find a place for him. The biggest problem is that Jason adds to our already lefty-heavy lineup.

I read that in the Saturday game Acta wanted Chris Perez to go after Bautista because of reluctance to put the first batter on base in a tie game in extra innings.

Plus he said, Perez is the closer so he didn't want to tell him not to challenge Bautista.

I would have have preferred the "don't intentionally walk him, but darned sure throw him stuff off the plate."

We're within 1/2 game of first place at the All Star Break.

Best shape we've been in for probably 90% or more of the Indians seasons of my life.

I'll take it.

Damn the torpedoes....

Currently 7th best record in the AL. We're in the right divison.

21,000 in Cleveland yeseterday, 31,000 in Pittsburgh: Pirates 1 game out of first.

NYT "first half honors" give Manny AL Manager of the Year. Hurdle for the NL.

Civ: I didn't specify a replacement for Talbot. Time to find out who is ready. Talbot is not. May never be.

I doubt that he ever will be, although he had a nice 1/2 season in 2010

I was hoping that if enough All Star pitchers either disqualified themselves or were disqualified by the rules that maybe Masterson would get a call. His ERA is surely All-Star quality.

9th in Wins Over Replacemnt in the leaague (important I know, but not sure where exactly it's derived) and 7th in old-fashioned ERA

Easier to list who is not on the All Star team. What a joke...... 2 more injuries and I think Sizemore makes the team.

Most of these prima donnas have clauses in their contracts that pays them for making the All Star Team. Sixteen player bowed out of playing this year. Bet they still get their bonus.
