Matthew Dellawhatever is back!

Cavs trade Hill and Dekker to Bucks for Matty D and future 1st and 2nd round picks.

The 1st rounder is in 2021 due to some such NBA rules crap I never understand.

Dekker is from Wisconsin and played ball for Badgers so he'll be happy.

Agree in the long term nice pickups in Henson and the #1

George Hill phase 2 of the veteran removals after Korver. JR still to come.

The Cavs are trading players to acquire draft picks but they are also adding players that can be traded at the trade deadline that are just as valuable as the players they traded.

Korver , Hill and Dekker = Burks, Henson and Dellevadova. So if they want they can trade these guys again.

Plus they still have Love, Thompson, JR, Clarkson and Hood available.

Gilbert being willing to take on salary is the key once again.

Kevin O'Connor

@KevinOConnorNBA

Expect the Cavaliers to try to move on next from JR Smith. I heard this week they received some interest for Smith from the Rockets and Pelicans—both teams need depth at the wing position. Smith's 2019-20 salary is guaranteed for only $3.9M, so it has some value as a trade chip.

Agree here - say what you will about JR, he is still athletic enough and obviously can shoot 3s. And many teams need that. It's just that his skill set is such a niche, he only has value to a contender.

Cavs win easily, using 8 players, and one starter is a guy on a two-way contract with 10 minutes of NBA experience on his resume. It helped that John Wall "couldn't move" in his words, but it's also true that Sexton scored 29, hit 3 of 7 threes, and 6 assists. and Thompson dominated the boards again with 19 rebounds, 3 points and even 5 assists.
Newbies Jaron Blossomgame 6 points and 6 boards; Jalen Jones hit all 4 threes he put up.

Great to see Sexton get the playing time and running with it.

Great to see Tristan Thompson excel with full time work - thus building his trade value!!

Wizards are head cases....nice win though.

Does anything know much this guy Jones? Is he principally a 3 point shooter who can sort of replace Korver? Although I guess he'll be spending much of his team with Canton once some injured guys return.

8 played yesterday; on the bench: Fry and Zizic
Waiting clearance to play: Dellapadova
Hurt but due back soon: Hood
Hurt but due back pretty soon: Nwaba
Recovering slowly from surgery: Love
The names change quickly; am I missing the 15th man, or are they going one man short still?

Ah, him. They may have trouble limiting the games that Blossom... and Jones play in the NBA as required on two=way contracts.

The Rockets have expressed exploratory interest in acquiring JR Smith, according to league sources. Smith is currently on hiatus from the Cavaliers as Cleveland seeks a new home for the veteran shooting guard via trade

Rockets have 4 2nd round picks in 2019 draft. Probably looking at Brandon Knight and a couple of 2nd round picks.

Knight must have some salary of his own attached to him. Somehow the Rockets would look to offset some of that for cap purposes.
