Even with Clase the magic carpet bullpen ride of last year was never going to repeat this year.
(For one thing they burned out some arms with all those appearances IMO.
Feel bad for Cade last night!

and they have way too many AAA players in the lineup.
One mistake by the Rangers yesterday: they should have intentionally walked Jose with the bases loaded and we would have scored only one run.
Instead he doubled in 2, and then the next "heart of the lineup" followed up by all striking out with men on second and third.

Gabriel Arias looked like he could hit in July. Now he's back to normal with a perfect 4 K in 4 tries yesterday.

Another shutout loss.
Lousy start by Williams, 90 pitches in 3 1/3 innings.
Season is now over.
I'd suggest sending Martinez, Schneeman and Jones to Columbus. Bring up Valera, Noel and Halpin. None of them are very good either but 1 of them is hot [although he did go hitless today]; 1 them can play CF [and if he could sustain his 253 average in the majors would be one of our top hitters]; and one of them is a right handed hitter [who had a very solid 1/2 season with the Gs last year].
If there was an IF worth promoting I'd send Arias away too. Not Bazzana, let him spend a month in AAA.

Let's build on success! No roster changes. Same bunch of all stars in the lineup:
Martinez in CF Jones in RF. Arias at SS. Naylor behind the plate. Santana at first.

Bibee with a 6.04 ERA since July 1 on the mound tonight.
He's been a super disappointment

in 2023 Bibee allowed one homer every 11 innings; in 2024 one homer in just a bit under 8 innings; in 2025 one homer in just a bit more than 6 innings.

Good first inning: one of our three batters put the ball in play.

Last time out Tampa pitcher touched for 6 runs in 3 innings
Previous game 2 in 3 1/3.
This is his second start. They save him for the tough opponents

2 of 3 struck out again in the 2nd. Including Arias who has now fanned 10 of his last 14 fruitless trips to the plate
He remains our No. 6 hitter. Quite a threat

3 shutouts in a row, first time since 1991
Bibee started solid, then lost it and got pissed at the miserable defense behind the plate.
They have set the table for the Browns to take over the Cleveland sports scene, for those of you have interest in the Browns.

check the transaction link on guardians.com compulsively but nothing ever happens except for occasional modifications to the bullpen.
No good reason to wait until Sept 1 when they can add 2 more bodies. The sooner jones is good the better.

Beautiful, efficient, quick work by Messick, outdoing any predictions for him,
Offense comes alive for one inning, with the help of some poor pitching and nets 3 singles and 3 runs.
And then goes hitless for the next 7.
On a great pitching night, that truly feeble effort nets a win,.

Jose gets a well-deserved day off today. Which leaves us with a lineup consisiting of perhaps 4 hitters to worry the opposing pitcher.
How worried would you facing Gabrel Arias [August OPS 503] batting fifth; and nolanjones [August OPS 368!] hitting 6th.
Combined stats for the nine in August:
483 AB
49 Runs
98 Hits
46 RBI
14 doubles
2 triples
11 homers
30 walks
127 strikeouts
11 steals in 13 tries
203 avg
250 OBP
308 SLG
558 ops
This team is embarrassing.
Let's see them break the mold and have an offensive explosion todau
