Not a good way to start the weekend. G's forced to win tonight as Detroit takes a 8-2 lead into the 8th inning.

Obviously, things are not going our way. I think injuries and the Nolan Jones trade threw this team for a loop. Freeman and Brennen were both very popular players, i think Vogt saying he does not like the term platoon and then platooning players is hilarious ! Biggest concern is that I do not see long term players in RF, CF, SS, C and 2nd base at the major league level. So what do you do with Nolan Jones, Arias and Naylor ? Santana and Thomas will finish out the season or be traded at the deadline.
Lots of moving parts. Vogt give players the full time job and stop over managing !!!!!!

Unlikely offensive heroes: Arias double and go-ahead homer. Rodriguez triple and Hedges sac fly.
Giants had 10 hits, received 5 walks and a hit batter and left 13 on base.
The hero of the day was Kwan who threw out one runner in the 8th when Gaddis put 3 on base; and made a perfect throw in the 9th to hold the runners when Clase had put 3 on base.
Cecconi was pretty good again; 5-4-2-2-3-6 4.15 ERA

It's been close to 2 weeks since we were 9 games behind the tigers. Still 9 games back. Haven't gained an inch. Time to concentrate on a wild card spot. That being said, we're a 1/2 game out of a playoff spot.

At this point, no doubt. Ortiz was a nice addition. Too bad the offense sucks. The offense is solely responsible for putting this team in the position they're in.

Not a good time to promote DeLauter just when Jones is starting to show signs of life. Besides, while the forum was down, i read that DeLauter was decent at hitting curveballs, he had problems with mid-90's fastballs.

Like to see Jones start facing left handed pitching. The one at bat I saw against a lefthanded batter, he saw 10 pitches before walking.

Don'T think it's a good idea to promote 2 players with no major league experience at rhe same time. The offense has been something to be desired from the get go. Why pile on more woes?

Kayfus, on the other hand, deserves a look see.

Read where one of our beat writers was happy to see that Detroit also lost last night. We didn't lose any ground. Still 9 games behind. Well, we didn't pick up any ground either. In fact we were 9 games behind 2 weeks ago. Still 9 games behind today.

Checked on how well we fared last night in the wild card chase. We fell anther game behind. We're now a game an a half behind in the wild card hunt.

If we don't get any consistency from this offense, might aswell kiss this season goodby.
