Game 2, Curry is doing just fine. 4 innings 1 run, Giminez jsut got the G's on the board with a 2 run blast. Maile with a solo

Bad news: Naylor left early, what happened?

Curry is susceptible to homers so the lead is not a sure thing, but he certainly has outperformed Hunter Gaddis is his debut.

I'm actually quite surprised that they promoted because I don't think that he'd be rule 5 eligible this winter. Then again he was drafted in 2019 and 2020 I guess counts although no one played in the minors. So I withdraw my surprise.

4 solid innings by Curry, 2 runs in the 5rh. Then Morgan entered and game things away. Eli is in a prolonged major slump; needs time in Columbus. It helped Karinchak and Sandlin, it could help him. At present he is not the man you want in a tie game; and last week he was not man you wanted to hold a 5 run lead in the 9th.
Shaw was stretched into a second inning which doesn't work.

After another big day Giminez is now 2nd in the AL in batting; 5th in the AL in OPS, just a notch behind Ramirez.

Bat Gimenez cleanup. Not such a great idea to pitch around Jose Ramirez with him up next.

Nolan Jones - Losing playing time

August 16, 2022
Jones is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

ANALYSIS
The lefty-hitting Jones is riding pine for the third time in four games, will each absence coming when the Guardians have opposed a right-handed starting pitcher. With Jones getting on base at a .185 clip and striking out in 44.4 percent of his plate appearances in August, the playoff-hopeful Guardians seem inclined to rotate players at the designated-hitter spot rather than leaning on the slumping rookie as their primary option.

“We always think that we’re in it and it just takes one guy to get it going,” Kwan said. “Hitting is contagious, barrels or outs.”

That finish was nuts. 3 strikeouts to start the inning, 6 runs follow. These kids are fun to watch play and watch them celebrate. Naylor went nuts again.

Most improbable win I think I’ve ever seen!

Gotta add that we were all hopeful that Kwan and Gimenez would become really good regular players for us.

I think we may have shot too low. They may both become superstars.

Think Ichiro and Robbie Alomar.
