Nice to see the hitters ba above 200. Play in the bottom of the 7th. Clement grounds to short in the baseline
and collides (not hard) dislodges the ball
and safely makes it to 3rd.
Nice speed by Straw to score from
1st on Naylor double into the right field corner.
Re: GameTime!™
25443another sac fly, this time Giminez and we have the 3 run lead again

Re: GameTime!™
25444Are the White Sox missing some important players? about half their lineup is unfamiliar
Re: GameTime!™
25445It looks Stephan is the designated 8th inning setup man. Did another fine job, getting last out in the 7th after his error and 3 quick outs in the 8th
Re: GameTime!™
25446civ - Manning said that Stephan "has the best stuff in the bullpen except for Clase".
Then Tito's comments made it evident that Stephan is the primarily leverage reliever/setup guy.
As for today - once again they peck out runs and mix in a homer.
They quoted some crazy stat about how many times they've had runners in scoring position compared to the opponents. It was something like 130 to 70 or 80.
The point being that they get runners because they get singles and doubles.
So tired of the homer/strikeout ways of the league - this is refreshing!!
Valaika for MVP!

25449Eli Morgan who beat NY last year gets Friday night.
Kyle McCarty Saturday. In three starts at Triple-A Columbus this year, he posted a 0.79 ERA, 12:5 K:BB and 1.08 WHIP in 11.1 innings.
7th round draft pick. 5-8 lefty. 2021 AAA debut 5.01 ERA 25 homers in 124 innings. 2019 in High A 5.66.
Lucky for him to get a big league start, could well be his last

25450This looks like a Covid losd
Not just missing Quantrill but with Miller out forced to play Bradley

Re: GameTime!™
25451I noticed other teams are using that "covid list" for players with "covid-like" symptoms - LOL!
So in other words if you want to open up a roster spot now - you claim a player has "covid-like" symptoms and he gets a covid IR designation. And your team gets an open roster spot!
No positive test or anything - just he has symptoms that COULD be covid. Pretty damn broad there!
Especially useful in a guy like Quantrill's role - starting pitcher. He's useless anyways when not starting.
Then, all he has to do is pass the covid tests (he never had it anyways) and they come back instantly.
In the meantime you call up guys to take roster spots.
Oh - surprise - Quantrill is back today (Saturday) and ready to start. Hope he wasn't too sick.

Re: GameTime!™
25452the collection of pitchers weren't half bad Friday. Probably Tully's career highlight: two innings pitched in Yankee Stadium. Decent career ERA of 4.50
Re: GameTime!™
25453Agree civ - was a great opportunity for Morgan too. That kid is a really nice #6 - his trials last year taught him a lot.

Re: GameTime!™
25455I still assume that Pilkington will go to Columbus when the rosters shrink in a week. He's done well in his limited time but probably would be more useful as a 7th starter capable of pitching 5+ innings. Castro isn't any good so would be fine to demote him too. Retaining de los Santos makes sense but would require a DFA; Castro is a solid candidate for that.
Bullpen: Clase, Stephan, Sandlin, Shaw, Gose, Hentges, Allen, Morgan or he could to Columbus and build up to starting pitcher innings., de los Santos
More curious how they're trim the bench to probably 4 or perhaps 5.
Catching will be Hedges and Maile
sure things in the infield in order of certainty:
Ramirez, Rosario, Miller, Giminez, Clement, Chang, Bradley the latter two are out of options so could hang around for another final last chance
OF: Kwan, Straw, Naylor if not at 1st base, Mercado
DH: Reyes and everyone else from time to time
They could keep them all if they are willing to go with 12 pitchers, but that's doubtful.
Sooner or later Arias deserves to return and probably Richie Palacios, too.
