I thought it was pretty cool that each starting position player scored exactly one run in Sunday's game. Probably not the first time it has ever happened, but slick all the same.

Another stud starter challenges the Tribe today. Jakob Junis 28 year old with a career ERA of 4.76 and a great 2020: 0-2 6.39

Already lost to Danny Duffy 4-4- 4.95 in 2020
to Matt Boyd 3-7 6.71 in 2020
to Julio Teheran 0-4 10.05 in 2020
and were held in check by Tarik Skubal 1-4 5.63 in 2020 but rallied against bullpen
for the arithmetically challenged the 2020 totals for these 5 starters was 8-21.
Would take some time I'm not interested in using to compute composite ERA but would have to be comfortably abovet 6.00
Wonder how the bats will fare against anything in the nature of quality starters?

We have loaded the lineup with lefties today including those two 000 stars Gamel at the top of the order and Bauers 7th.

Naylor's single with 2 outs in the 2nd is our first hit. Here comes Bauers; and he swings at the first pitch and grounds our "sharply".

Giminez learns from a pro [Bauers] and swings at the first pitch and spins a nice quick GIDP. Roberto Perez worked a walk in between those 2 but why not just swing away?
Gamel the Great takes the Roberto approach but isn't quite as clear on the strike zone and takes a called 3rd strike on the 8th pitch he sees.

Apparently the word on the street is to swing at the first pitch this guy throws. Jose Ramirez and Eddie Rosario try the same thing in the 4th. The result is a 7-pitch perfect inning for this year's likely Cy Young winner.

Not that he can do much to make them any better, or worse, than their talent makes possible, but does the hitting coach help out at all?

this miserable Royals' pitcher is very susceptible to the long ball. 7 in 25 innings last year. 31 and 32 in 175~ innings the previous two years. Of course that was against major league opposition

not in their right mind expecting anything more than 5 innings from their No. 5 starter, Royals go to the pen in the 6th. Jesse Hahn unlike Junis the starter was very good in 2020 ERA of 0.52 and WHIP of 0.69. Not so sharp in his first 3 outings this year

Giminez with a leadoff single. Our first leadoff man aboard.
Should Gamel bunt? Last thing I'd want is him swinging away.
