Another outstanding start by Carrasco! Hope we can get Tomlin going and trade Carmona, Sizemore, Durbin. Kearns and Caberra......

Sure a good thing their hitting coach warned the Indians to lay off the pitches down low. I do not thing they were listening. How many did they swing at? Terrible. But, they sure needed a win and they got it!

Each of our young pitchers have looked good at times and awful at times.

Must be the fact that they are young.

Experience is the only way out of that dilemna.

Nice win.

Tigers in extra innings. Regardless, we'll still hold mathematical First Place for yet another day.

I was able to watch The Tribe from the gym tonight for the first time ever. My original plan was to do 15 minutes of warm up elliptical and then hit the machines. I ended up doing 30 minutes of elliptical with the best TV view, and then hit the machines.

a WIN...YAAY! I'll take it.

WTF is up with Choo? He K'ed on a pitch that bounced 3 ft. in front of the plate?

Choo said he was still feeling the pressure of performing to the max to make up for his DUI.

My personal remedy would be for Choo to get as drunk as he likes on the night before an off day, and then have the club pick up his cab or limo fare.

Breathe in, breathe out.

To Detroit.

Let's space it out between us and that hell hole.

2011.

The Tribe is very much alive.

Tribe is alive but believe me Dolan can see the end of terrible contracts for Carmona and Sizemore and doesn't need binoculors to see the Hafner disaster coming to an end either! This is still about building for 2012 and beyond. Tribe will be sellers in July but man this season sure is a lot more fun than the last few. Even sea understands that!

Sizemore and Carmona's contracts are not terrible. Never have been. Need to research the average MLB contracts for players of their service time.

As far as Hafner, this team can not compete without him.

As far as sellers, unless they are getting rid of Carmona they have nothing to sell. Don't believe Sizemore will be traded but he would bring back little anyway.

Nice job by Carrasco but another gem from yesterday was Chris Perez's mow 'em down 9th.

Finally a 1-2-3 inning with 3 K's.

That's what we need in a closer.

Perez has been pitching like Wickman for the past month.

And Perez put a little exclamation point on what was otherwise a terrible series for us. Yankee fans must not have liked that.

Our offense still consists of 2 men and 7 stick figures. Acta can bat Brantley and Cabrera 1st and 2nd, or 3rd and 4th, it really makes no difference as long as one is available to bat in the other. I vote for the top of the order since that increases the possibility of them getting 5 AB's, which of course depends on the rest of the lineup getting on base from time to time during the course of a game.

I have been very impressed with Tomlin overcoming his neglible prospect status but I fear he is now getting to the level that his talent permits. I like Masterson and Carrasco as long time starters. Perhaps Talbot, less likely Tomlin, but Josh might have a career as a long reliever, spot starter. White and Pomeranz fit in toward the top of the rotation. Maybe Gomez, or McAllister, or Huff (great game by David last night for Columbus) or de la Cruz or Austin Adams. There's a large supply of possbly effective big league starters.

Travis Hafner (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday night with Double-A Akron.
Hafner is expected to play three or four minor league games before returning to the Indians' starting lineup this weekend. The 34-year-old DH has been out of commission since May 20 with a right oblique strain.

I check daily for the news of the Austin Kearns designation for assignment. But haven't found it yet. I suppose we need his potent RH bat against Justin Verlander tonight. I'd take Chad Huffman or I guess Jared Head (or Shelly Duncan) as RH alternatives without fear they'd be worse.
