They just disqualified my horse. LOL

Well it was fun for a few minutes!

Looks like disqualification was the right call, though. I didn't recognize it while the races was occurring, but it was pretty clear on replay while they discussed the rules.

Sorry, Hillbilly. You bet on the best horse, but the jockey and/or the horse messed it up.

I had never saw a horse get DQd before. Even the announcers were saying he wouldn’t, till he did...

Well, the good news is I also bet across the board on the 8 horse, Tacitus, and the DQ moved him from 4th to 3rd. So at least I got some of my money back. Still a loss on the day though.

And the Blue Jackets lost another tight game. Thank God the Tribe won or I would be really postal now.

Today's pep talk by Tito  :

“One of the first things I tell them at spring training,” he (Tito) said, “is how we handle adversity kind of defines how your season goes. Now we’re getting it thrown at us, so how can we handle it? I don’t see where teams aren’t going to come in and feel sorry for us. I was going to call over and ask (the Mariners) if they’d take (Mitch) Haniger out, but I don’t think they will.

“This can be our time to shine or we can feel sorry for ourselves and lose. We want to make sure we scratch and claw and do everything we can.”

I gotta say first 2 games they did just that.

Bullpen has been about as good as anyone's. Hand is perfect in saves; Cimber has had a stumble or maybe two; Wittgren has been a find. Otero doing better than I expected. The rest could be better but they've not cost us many games.

It goes to show the power of good starting pitching.

And today shows what happens when you have horrible starting pitching so far.

Our old buddy Jay Bruce with a grand slam. 4-0

Well, I wanted to see Anderson. I did. Next

I don't get Cody Anderson.

You guys know the minors way better than I do. From my less educated viewpoint I think "what has he ever done that they seem to like him so much?"

How many times does he have to disappoint?

Well, in his first year he went 7-3 with a 3.05 ERA, and looked like a promising young arm. But then injuries derailed him. Looks like he's still off the rails.

Right, it's his major league record that is encouraging. He has not had nearly enough minor league rehab time to prove anything. He was not ready and I assume he goes back. Hu is the 40 man roster so he is available without shaking up the roster.

Perhaps the release of Moroff [which opens a roster spot] is a step toward adding another pitcher, either internal, like Woji…. or someone off the waiver wire.

we're running through the second raters in the bullpen, Edwards allowed a homer; Olson 4 hits in 1 2/3 [2 runs] and Otero came in to clear the bases with a homer. None has been unscored on. Otero's back out for the 5th; we still have Ramirez and Perez to go; and I guess Plawecki could finish up again.

Meanwhile the vaunted offense hasn't had a hit yet against a kid who came in with a 6.62 ERA.

forgot about Clippard; he's good enough to hold out but they might want him to threw a few pitches.

10-0 as Otero throws batting practice. Our 4 pitchers have used 117 pitches to get 14 outs.
Their guy Swanson has needed 70 for his 4 no-hit innings. He'll need some help to get in the record book.
