Shelby Miller and Patrick Corbin, who beat the Indians in the first and third game of this series, were a combined 8-27 last season.

I bet we get at least one more win this season. I think I predicted 94 again.

Is AZ pitching that good?
I don't think so. In my opinion, our hitters showed little patience and were out of control. If Encarnacion and Santana were corkscrews, they would be threaded into the ground up to their necks. The same holds true for a couple of other guys.
Yesterday's game was lost when Lindor left his position at short stop and was playing up the middle. The first run batted in went exactly through the point Lindor had just vacated. That would have been the third out of the inning. Instead we're down by a run. Arizona pulls off a double steal, Gomes' throw was off target and the second run scored. Now down 2-0. Ballgame!
Unfortunately for us, playing up the middle in the first two games cost us a bunch of runs. It was like a magnet. When Lindor and/or Ramirez left their positions, Arizona found that hole. It was uncanny-like hitting or just plain luck. For as many times as it happened in the three game series, I'd have to rule out luck. Just plain good hitting. Something we lacked.
Time to take it out on the White Sox.

But Arizona 2b and ss played out of position also and a lot of our would be hits up the middle were cut off. Both teams seemed to be out of position but it worked much better for them.

These guys aren't guessing when it comes to positioning. They have spray charts up the yang. Maybe some of the AZ hitters didn't have enough ABs to drill down on the best defensive position.
Positioning also reflects how the pitcher is trying to get them out. Some you pitch in, some you pitch away, high or low. When the pitcher misses his spot, bad things happen.

Yandy and Encarnacion are both pressing right now. Both just needs to relax and have fun playing a game.
