I remember when everone went home for their "real jobs" in the winter. Woody Held worked at a hunting lodge in ?Wyoming. Same for football players: I remember Bernie Parrish was a stockbroker; and the tragic case of Don Fleming who was electrocuted working on a construction project.

I see Trevor Bauer is begging for a job. Willing to sign for the league minimum plus incentives.
Could the G's forgive and forget?

Not too surprisingly, Steven Kwan wins the Guardians Chess Championship, beating AAA IF Daniel Schneemann in the finals.
Semifinalists were Hedges and Bo Naylor
First round victims were McKenzie, Fry, Brennan and Tanner Bibee
Article says the Guardians have been competing against John Marshall HS team in Cleveland regularly for a couple years.

Andre Knott telling a story about Francona going out to dinner with Trevor Bauers Dad and Trevor to learn more about Trevor.
Next day Andre asks Francona how the dinner went ? Tito says Andre, you ever hear the story about the apple and the tree ? Shit his dad is the tree !

Out of options
Guardians
Deyvison De Los Santos, 3B
Estevan Florial, CF
Sam Hentges, RP
Ben Lively, SP

To be picky, DLS has options remaining but CLE can't send him out without offering him back for half price
Lively's lack of options adds to his case to make the team
Florial will be given plenty of opportunity but he has to show SOMETHING

He's not done anything to show he's nearly ready for the majors; but since teams got by just fine with 25 players for years, they could easily hold onto him

So Stephan is out for the year.
Hentges is getting further examination
Karinchak hasn't pitched and will open on the DL
Williams is not seriously injured, at current report, but will open on DL
Suddenly it appears that nearly all of the pitchers competing for one spot have opportunities.
Carrasco could be the No. 5 starter, or long man, if Curry starts
Gaddis has pitched well and makes the bullpen
Herrin has been pretty good and is now the only lefty in the pen
Lively could get a spot but he's hardly pitched and still has the flu
So Cade Smith seems likely to turn a good spring into a major league debut.

Do they have to set the 26 man roster before they put them on the 10/15 day unable to play list.

they have 40 men on the roster, to start with, and remove guys including the IL and DFAs and options. 26 remain
