I hope by some miracle he doesn't pass waivers. I've watched him the last five seasons and think the guy just needs consistent plate appearances to to excel. We played him in less than half of our games and only 160 AB's.

When he had over 300 plate appearances in his rookie year four years ago he hit .288 with 22 doubles, five triples and 7 HR's with an .850 OPS.

He's a natural ballplayer.

I do sort of get and accept Acta wanting his trusted friend veteran around (Kearns) the club house.

But, I am a Travis Buck fan.

I hope the DFW area chick is working out for you, Charlie T.

I once met a girl on a plane who I later went to many Rangers games with in the old ballpark. She'd want nachos covered in cheese and jalapenos. Despite her dietary choices, I'd still wrestle with her on her living room floor in Arlington TX after the games as I unfortunately acquiesced to her wish to watch American Gladiators.

I usually won, at least twice. On most of our post game interactions.

She sold medical devices in a territory west of Dallas proper, and her Father was President of a Texas based Western Boot company.

10 years later I was at what would be termed a "networking function" in Portland, Oregon and very unexpectedly saw her again. And her, me.

I was with a guy I had hired for our little company to manage our IPO company hopeful branch in Portland when I was based in Florida.

She and I looked at each other and exchanged awkward interchanges trying to figure out how we might possibly know each other. At first I was clueless, and she was too.

During conversations, it all came back to Texas Rangers and American Gladiators. And then we once more connected.

And both mutually said "damn!" "Over a thousand miles away, and ten years later."

She was still cute as a button, but that was a year I was married.

The guy I had hired said, "damn, I think you two connected." "Right?"

My loving and cute 2nd wife trumps the Dallas area chick in all ways important to me.

But......memories are fun.

Off topic in this discussion but to react to TFISC post.......

My Grandfather once told me when I was young- If you think you can get it, by all means do or you will regret it.

I followed that advice until I got married, love my wife too much.

I remember a graduate school buddy who passed on a girl who was in the Miss America pageant. 50 years later and with a few beers in him he still mopes about missing out on a possible Miss America!

Looks like the Indians are targeting Ludwick and Harang.

I also think the Jimenz rumors are the tribe attempting to make the Tigers to reach higher.

Indians Making Push For Ludwick

By Ben Nicholson-Smith [July 29 at 12:13am CST]

The Indians acquired one outfielder earlier today and they may not be done yet. They're making a "strong push" for Ryan Ludwick, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter link). It's worth noting that Cleveland was the third team in the deal that sent Ludwick from St. Louis to San Diego last summer.

Now on the trading block for the second consecutive summer, Ludwick has a .238/.302/.373 line with 11 home runs so far in 2011. Even though the Indians added Kosuke Fukudome earlier today, they will consider adding further outfield help, as Grady Sizemore and Shin-Soo Choo are on the disabled list. The Phillies and Braves are among the other clubs with interest in Ludwick.

Ubaldo Jimenez Rumors: Friday

By Ben Nicholson-Smith [July 29 at 8:52am CST]

The Tigers contacted the Rockies about Ubaldo Jimenez yesterday and they're far from the only team in the mix. The Yankees, Red Sox, Reds and Indians are still involved and the Rockies are eyeing each team's top prospects in possible deals. Colorado's asking price hasn't dropped, so it will still take multiple top young players to pry the right-hander away. Here are the latest rumors, with the most recent updates up top:

Any Jimenez deal with the Tigers would "almost certainly" include Jacob Turner and/or Rick Porcello, according to Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com (on Twitter).
Rival teams expect to know the Rockies’ true intentions regarding Jimenez tomorrow, according to ESPN.com’s Buster Olney. If the sky-high asking price drops in the next day and a half, other teams will see the price reduction as a signal that Colorado intends to move Jimenez.

Hiroki Kuroda Rumors: Friday
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [July 29 at 12:59pm CST]

Yesterday we heard a variety of reports about whether the Dodgers are taking offers for Hiroki Kuroda and which destinations he would approve trades to. This much is clear, though - the Dodgers are asking for a "significant piece" in return for the right-hander, who is drawing lots of interest and can block any deal. Here are the latest rumblings regarding Kuroda, with the most recent updates up top:

Rival teams say the Dodgers want a young starting pitcher or a catcher who’s close to the Major Leagues for Kuroda, according to ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark.

Kuroda seems "apprehensive" about waiving his no-trade clause, according to Scott Miller of CBSSports.com, who hears that Kuroda may only accept a deal to the Yankees or Red Sox. The Tigers, Rangers and Indians remain interested.

There's a strong belief that Kuroda would not approve a deal to the Tigers or Indians, according to Jon Heyman of SI.com (on Twitter). As for accepting a deal to the Yankees or Red Sox, it's "iffy."

I don't get how guys with expiring contracts don't want to be traded to a team in a pennant race.

Heck, I'd go to Siberia if they had a contender.

according to Jon Heyman of SI.com (on Twitter).

Jon Heyman is the mouthpiece for Scott Boras. Most of what he reports comes straight from Boras. When Heyman said that Beltran did not want to be traded to the Indians and then Beltran denied it. The Indians brass knew that Boras had told Heyman that he did not want Beltran going to Cleveland. Agents want their clients going to somewhere they can get an extension.

Screw Boras.

Isn't Choo signed up with him?

Kuroda isn't getting an extension right away with any team he might get traded to before the deadline.

They are actually making a regular film about ESPN.

Why?
