Maybe the Tribe is thinking about moving Santana.
Yes, to 1B. A la a Victor type role.

Regarding moving La Porta to the outfield. He was quite slow afoot and I think since his ankle injury, supposedly recovered, he is 1-2 steps slower.

Anybody remember when 13-16 years ago we had 7 guys hitting over 300?

Not sure why anyone would want this guy...
B.J. Upton - OF - Rays
Ken Rosenthal said on the FOX Saturday Baseball broadcast that the Indians have interest in B.J. Upton.
Rosenthal also confirmed a report from ESPN's Buster Olney that Upton will -- with certainly -- be traded at this year's deadline. The news comes on the heels of Desmond Jennings' sudden callup.
Upton, 26, has a disappointing .712 OPS in 94 games for the Rays this season but may finally peak with a change of scenery.

Couple of things going on right now. The Indians are not considering LaPorta as a full time outfielder. Teams are asking for so much for Ludwick and Willingham that the Indians have decided to look into players that may be worth what the A's and Padres are asking for their players. Guys like Ianetta give the Indians a piece for a few years instead of a couple of months.
Every team is asking for Hagadone, etc.
The Indians want to make a financial deal and not a prospect deal for a marginal player. In other words the Dolans have given approval to buying a player and giving up a prospect that is a couple years away or a player from a position of strength like Donald, Phelps, and Valbuena.
The Indians are discussing every available player.

Rival execs beginning to believe CLEV's moves will be more incremental than anything. CLE won't trade prime assets to augment '11 Indians.

Get ready for the best Cleveland sports week in years. Indians are in first place (only the loss column matters folks), Browns will sign players in free agency and the trading deadline means Indians moves for sure.
NO WAY will the Indians pick up Sizemore's option. Man to think they will is just crazy and I think they trade Carmona before he ever pitches again after this year. Dolan has a fine young CHEAP team that will be able to compete in the weak Central Division for years! He is going to make a bundle on the Indians over the next three years!!! In my opinion we are one middle of the order corner OF with a RH 25+ power bat from being the class of the division! Go get him!!!!
Man I'm pumped today!!!

Antonetti on WKNR right now. I will post the interview when it is available. Alex White will be going out on rehab at the end of the week.

Antonetti says that the Indians made preemptive trade offers weeks ago to attempt to make a trade. Says that the lack of activity by all teams shows how much the selling teams are asking for their players.
Says that the Indians have been involved in most rumored players and also a lot of not rumored players.

Asked if he would be disappointed if the Indians didn't make a trade for a hitter, Acta said, "We've got to make the right deal. I'm not here to make the playoffs this year and then lose for the next four years."
Lots of faith in the front office and organization there.

I wouldn't go so far as to call LaPorta a bust.
Yet.
But you can see it from here.
