I do not understand the Tribe trying to get starting pitching. If anything we need HITTING!

Our pitching is fine, it is not our problem.

We even have some rookies or youngsters that could develop:White,Gomez, Mcallister, Hagadone,....

Why even Germano threw a perfect no hitter tonight.

Acta on the postgame:

tough game to lose, shame for Tomlin who threw 26 of 28 first pitch strikes, 1 the intentional walk.

Lost because we couldn't get a key hit. Couldn't get the ball out of the infield with the bases loaded.

Just a shame to lose this ballgame.

Beautiful game pitched by Josh.

Would do the intentional walk every time in that situation. Just didn't work out.

Laporta battled in the 9th, but when you get your pitches, you have to hit the ball out of the infield.(Sounds quite less than thrilled with Matt)

That's all.

Ryan Ludwick - OF - Padres

Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Indians are "in the mix" for Ryan Ludwick.
The Indians tried (and failed) to make a splash for Carlos Beltran, but Ludwick would still be an upgrade for their depleted outfield. The 33-year-old has an underwhelming .240/.302/.376 batting line this season, but has enjoyed more success away from PETCO Park. The impending free agent could benefit from a change in scenery.

Sipp was on XM this morning.

When asked about Carlos Santana as a catcher, Sipp responded that he is athletic and good to pitch to because he lets the pitcher call the game.

Hmmm.

They asked him if the fans have gotten behind the team. Sipp answered that there are certainly more fans in the stands than early in the season.

He added the bullpen now calls itself the Bullpen Mafia.

Let's see what the Indians do

I'd strongly suggest dealing some of our surplus starting pitching and relief pitching for an OF who's contract doesn't expire this season. We can deal McAllister, or Gomez, or RPerez, or Hagadone, or Pestano or Smith. We should give up on this season, since the team has, and do something about the complete lack of OF talent in the entire organization.

Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that the Tribe brass has been hoping for this current collapse, so as to give them the perfect excuse to do what they have wanted to do all along, which is diddlysquat?

A little more "proactive" activity could have easily resulted in 5 extra wins these last two weeks. Heck, an outfielder who can catch could have won 3 all by himself.

CHARLIE: From an article posted, an interview with Antonetti:
Q. Are you confident you'll make a trade before the deadline?
A. I'm confident we'll do everything we can to make a deal. Whether that results in making a trade is difficult to say. As we've said all along, it takes two parties to make a trade. Despite our best efforts at this point, we haven't been able to do anything.
Q. What will it take to get the trade market going?
A. Our preference would have been to do something a few weeks ago. Again, we can't dictate that timetable. Hopefully, over the next day or two some dominoes start to fall and that opens up the market.
