Nothing there. as in Austin Hedges: 0-16 7 strikeouts, 2 walks.

Otherwise, Reyes we know will start to hit. All the guys hitting over 400 will come back to earth. But Miller and Kwan can reasonably be expected to hit about as well or better than Rosario and Straw, that would give a core of solid hitters, and Naylor too perhaps half a dozen 270+ averages and Jose can drive them all in.

Nothing there.
You know what? Really the wins and losses are very nice but they are secondary.

As they say, "it's the process" that has most people excited.

Put the bat on the ball. Even Jose Ramirez hit an opposite field homer !

And it's the guys who we need to come through that are showing that they can participate in this new process. Owen Miller, Kwan, and yes Amed Rosario is the real deal. Post hype prospect who was a great pickup after all. Add in, dare I say, Oscar Mercado (and good riddance to swing and miss Zimmer)?

Listened to the interview with Chris Valaika the new hitting coach the other day and he kept using the phrase that we had to "be different". In an era where swing and miss is routine and homers or nothing are the norm - the Guardees are daring to be different.

And that's the fun. New young guys and a new approach. And the young kids who can execute that new approach.

Because we KNOW we can pitch.

tie it up on yet another double by Owen Miller, his 7th, and Straw with another double.

For all the fun it is watching Kwan [who hasn't got on base yet today] Miller is really the cause to celebrate. He has gone 14-25 with 7 doubles and 2 homers unlike Kwan only 1 walk but also only 3 strikeouts
At the moment he leads the majors in most everything:
AVG 560 Ramirez is 2nd at 448
On Base Pct 556 tied with Kwan and a national leaguer;
Slugging 1080, Ramirez 2nd in the AL at 966
OPS 1636 Ramirez second in the AL at 1466
Hits 14 tied for AL and Major league lead Ramirez has 13
7 doubles no one else with 6 or 7

In RBI Ramirez leads with 15 2nd are 2 NL guys at 12 2nd in the AL is 10

Maybe give him a day off and DH Ernie Clement or Mercado
Ha civ the way Clement plays in the field never DH that guy. Put him in and DH whomever he goes in for. He seems spectacular and steady all at the same time - no matter where you play him.
