Of course with present World Series home team rules I do want the AL to win the All Star Game in 2011. Maybe I will pay closer attention tomorrow that I have in past years.
I remember (was it Sparky) the AL manager getting boo'ed at Muni for not starting Lenny Barker. What was that -- 81 or 82?

I'm not looking it up, but didn't we have the All Star Game in the 1st strike year? Dave Garcia?

Fausto Carmona (quad) threw a 50-pitch simulated game Thursday and is aiming to return Monday.
Carmona felt no lingering pain or discomfort in his once-strained right quad during or after the 50-pitch workout. He told reporters afterward that he's ready to return to the Indians' starting rotation Monday against the Twins.

Must have been '81. I remember Cleveland was awarded the All-Star game "a bit ahead of schedule" and then it looked kind of ironic that it might be canceled, due to the strike ... I think that was also the year that Toby Harrah was leading the AL in batting (or nearly so), the NL was winning the game, and the TV commentators were dissing the AL coaching staff for leaving Harrah on the bench ...

This one's going back and forth and looks like we'll wind up with plenty of scoring.

Tribe first 2 hits, Hafner DP, no runs.
O's first. Tomlin sets down 1,2,3
Tribe second, OC double, LaP rbi single 1-0
O's second, Tomlin gives up 2 solo homers. It;s a a good thing he has a very low WHIP. 1-2
Tribe third, Brantley single. AC 2 run homer. 3-2
