Other than '97, I truly have never cared much about the All Star game going back to Ray Fosse's injury. I did care about it prior to 1970.....which was only a few years of my baseball fandom.
Of course with present World Series home team rules I do want the AL to win the All Star Game in 2011. Maybe I will pay closer attention tomorrow that I have in past years.

3258Though kudos to Bautista for almost literally going balls to the wall to make that nice catch.

3261But hey, it may be possible to get the series advantage back if the NL team cannot sell beer.......if they lose the "opener."J.R. wrote:No point in the Indians going to the WS now - the NL has home field advantage.
Re: GameTime!™
3263That does mean the possibility of four games in an NL park without a DH for an AL team.
Perhaps more important, it guarantees the AL team will not have a DH for the first two games of the World Series.

32652-2 count, 2 out in the bottom of the 9th and we lead 8-4 at Baltimore.....

3266Apparently we caught Toronto getting hot in the three games before the break. Tonight they are blistering the Yankees by 16-7.
They have 20 hits and will only bat 8 innings since they are playing at home.

32678 hits for us 1 thru 4 tonight. 13K's for our pitchers, and it looked like Vinny Pestano benefited by the days off. I didn't see him pitch so don't know if the movement was back, but he pitched a perfect 8th with two K's.
Hafner reached base every at bat.

3268This Guthrie guy we faced to start the 2nd half is now 3-13.
A guy named Colon surrendered 8 runs in 2/3 of an inning in Toronto (3 earned).

3269I remember (was it Sparky) the AL manager getting boo'ed at Muni for not starting Lenny Barker. What was that -- 81 or 82?Tribe Fan in SC/Cali wrote:Other than '97, I truly have never cared much about the All Star game going back to Ray Fosse's injury.
