It looked to me like you were talking about their current performance so not sure what age has to do with it.
I guess you are going to continue to act like Naquin is a bust cause of his age despite the fact he missed last two years with back and hip injuries and actually performed very well in his only full season 3 years ago.
There is nothing to prove he is below average. Yet.
He’s more of a sure thing than Bauers who has never proven anything ever.

23312HB - we all know about small sample size. Detroit swept the Red Sox in a doubleheader yesterday.Hillbilly wrote:Well, the 6-16 Marlins came into our house and beat us. 3-1
Hard to feel good about this team they built this offseason.
BTW, I am all over Mercado coming up for a spark and of course this team's lineup isn't what last year's was. At least yet - and I'm not convinced they still won't add.
Start by adding Mercado.

Re: GameTime!™
23313Jose is back! Homered in the first. Singled in Martin in the 3rd. JRod with 3 shutout innings. Tribe up 2-0
Re: GameTime!™
23314Certainly Ramirez getting back to himself, along with Lindor rounding back into form at some point would be huge.

Re: GameTime!™
23315Still early in this game but damn Jefry Rodriguez has been a nice boost for this team. The guy has funky arm action.

Re: GameTime!™
23316Ah, this team is just frustrating me, TFIR. Get swept by Royals. Go into Seattle and sweep them. Blow a 7 run lead then get beat by Marlins. Just get your act together already.

23318Totally hear you HB!! Right now, Jefrey Rodriguez has me a bit pumped up though.Hillbilly wrote:Ah, this team is just frustrating me, TFIR. Get swept by Royals. Go into Seattle and sweep them. Blow a 7 run lead then get beat by Marlins. Just get your act together already.
So the Tribe has bases loaded with that intentional walk to Jose...

Re: GameTime!™
233193 on 1 out for Carlos
And he is rung out. Two out for Gonzalez. Tribe up 2-1 they need to score now before JRod runs of steam and the questionable bullpen takes over.
And CarGo leaves them loaded. I'll be surprised it they hold on.

Re: GameTime!™
23320HB - to add on to that, I do NOT think they will get their act together that soon.
Lindor..well obvious going to take some time there
CarGo - really the exact same
J Ram - hope this gets him going but....
Kipnis - same old, same old. Late start. 3 of those guys listed are really just getting going.
So this may take awhile - goes without saying Santana and Leonys have been pretty much it so far.

Re: GameTime!™
23321Intentionally walking the .176 hitter to get to the guy who is hitting about 400 ended up working out well. Go figure.
Re: GameTime!™
23322Jefry out for the 7th clinging to a one run lead. Only 86 pitches. He's been remarkably efficient. Maybe his catcher, Plawecki, deserves some credit?
Re: GameTime!™
23324Goes without saying if Rodriguez ends up being a real nice 6th starter for this team, it paints the Gomes trade very differently
