I’m always happy to see an all star want to stick around Cleveland. I just wonder whether it is wise to invest this many years and this much money in a guy who is oft-injured and really, to be honest, one of the softest players I’ve ever seen at PF.

Having said that, after I posted yesterday I saw the press conference and both Altman and Love acted as if they were in this for the long haul. Koby says he’s not going to be trading him. We’ll see. Even if you were planning on trading him later you would want to say that. Don’t want to seem desperate to unload and weaken your hand.

Guys like Nance were in over their head this early in their careers. Totally not ready for that level of pressure both playing with Lebron and playing in high profile playoff games.

I think Nance will be a very good player in this league. Not a superstar most likely but very athletic and loves Cleveland. He's a keeper.

Guys like him and Clarkson are still early in their developments and will be fun to see grow IMO. Same goes with Rodney Hood if they keep him.

So a roster built around Love at 4, with Nance and Zizic at 5 or backups at 4, Osman at 3, Hood at 2, Sexton at 1 and Clarkson backup to both guards would be our New Look, with some older guys still around to score some points. I can't imagine JR Smith being happy in that role. Need some more Frye type "good guy/mentor" vets to man the bench, I suppose.
And I guess the quality of such a team is totally uncertain. Although it seems a long shot for that blossom into a playoff superpower.

I like the idea of a Love and 4 Young Guys lineup, even though it wont' be a big winner; in fact in might earn them a lottery pick.
Zizic at 5
Love at 4
Osman at 3
Hood at 2
Sexton at 1
Nance frontcourt back up. Clarkson backup back up.
and a couple more off the bench
Sounds like an interesting team uniikely to make the playoffs.

Just out of lottery.

Not sure what they're expecting here. Kind of worst spot to be. No shot of competing for the Finals. No shot at a high draft pick.
Ditto!!

Wouldn't surprise me if Love gets dealt if the season goes south....which is pretty possible.

You know what? The Indians were in that no-man's land for a period of time and emerged out of it to contenders. It can be done though it's not easy.

Indiana is an example of a team like that. Made a really good Paul George trade, new coach and hell they take the Cavs to 7 games in the playoffs.

Cleveland fans would take the equivalent of that this season in a heartbeat.

Just giving Indiana as an example, it can be done.

That said, many would still consider that a failure because in the playoffs we now disqualify ourselves for a lottery pick.

So it's all in how you look at it. As usual....
