Indians have acquired infielder Josh Wilson from Rangers for cash. He is being sent to AAA Columbus.

He's a 36 year old 2nd baseman. Fill in journeyman...

He was hitting .329 with 4 homers on Texas' AAA team in Pacific Coast League.

Guess I don't see the reason for the Wilson acquisition. 36 year old 2B? Where's Mike Martinez when you need him?

They could have did it as a favor to Columbus. Ronny Rodriguez just got hurt and not exactly tearing it up before he did. And Todd Hankins is their other 2nd baseman, and he's hitting like 180.

Also gives some veteran insurance in case Kipnis' shoulder acts up again.

Clippers running out of infielders, needed someone to fill the roster. Wilson has had lots of stops in his career, Cleveland is unlikely to be one but need to field a full team in Columbus.

I like this week of pitching debuts; Civale's followed a dreadful farewell effort in Lake County. Sorry to see wakamatsu back on the DL he missed nearly all of last season. Was beginning to get into a decent offensive rhythm.
