Morimando's 2 shutout starts were preceded a real stinker, 8 ER in 4 IP, but in the 2 prior he allowed 1 run each time. Perhaps he's taking the lead in the race to be our No. 7 starter; we could well use one of these depth guys with the problems the rotation can't seem to shake.

Calica is another kid who can't run the bases. He's also 3/9 in steal attempts. He draws plenty of walks [23] but has very little power 6-1-1 in extra base hits. As noted in article I posted yesterday, at age 23 he's 1 year younger than Bryce Harper. Very marginal prospect.

Unsurprisingly none of our guys make the Hot Prospect List. It has not been an auspicious start for our kids.

Bradley and Chang in our top 10, both hitting below 200.
Aiken ERA near 5.
F. Mejia and Greg Allen doing well, but both on the DL.
Jones and Benson remain in extended spring training.
Zimmer and Gonzalez did well enough to rate promotions.
McKenzie is far and far the best performer among the preseason prospects.

Of the second tier, Krieger and Castro are doing well, but not great. Mathias is inching toward 200. Ice, the AAA starters; lots of guys are doing unspectacular things.

The best of the rest are surprises like Pannone and Merryweather.
