Well.....that was a little less ugly..at least we scored and got some hits....just not enough. Tomorrow we'll get the funk out. I just hope it isn't a 10+ run extravaganza that always leads to about 3 runs over the next week.
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

Regardless, I guarantee a Tribe win tomorrow.
The Indians have one inning left to prove you right.

I'm very happy I wasn't in Reno.

:-)

In my old baseball gambling days which very fortunately were over about 1/3 of a century ago.....the weekend Pete Rose got his 3,000th hit......I would have decided to double up on The Tribe tomorrow.

I saw some of the game today. Gardenhire may be a good manager, but he's a prick that needs to lose as often as possible.

I don't see any chickens around, but we need a win.

I'll suggest that all of us, where ever we are, visit the witch doctor and at 6PM eastern sing:

Ooh-ee-ooh-ah-ah, ting-tang-walla-walla-bing-bang

Above is the sound of the tune.

And then the witch doctor, he told me what to do
He said that
Ooh-ee-ooh-ah-ah, ting-tang-walla-walla-bing-bang
Ooh-ee-ooh-ah-ah, ting-tang-walla-walla-bang-bang
Ooh-ee-ooh-ah-ah, ting-tang-walla-walla-bing-bang
Ooh-ee-ooh-ah-ah, ting-tang-walla-walla-bang-bang

Two DP's today for Carlos.

I wouldn't send him down, but I'd let him watch some games from the bench to calm down and get the feel of the game again. Let Marson catch for a few games in a row and see what happens.

Since I never could figure out how we won 2/3 of our games for a couple months, I'm not bitching and moaning now, since at some point quality of talent has to prevail.

ill very impressive bullpen.

Brantley and Cabrera have really established themselves at the top of the lineup. It's reasonable to assume that Choo and Santana can hit again and when they do we'll have 4 spots in the lineup in exellent hands and LaPorta is doing a decent job at the bottom of the lineup. Some among Kipnis, Chisenhall and Phelps should succeed which adds up to a good offense.

None of our 5 starters is a top of the rotation pitcher, and 3rd, 4th and 5th starters are going to have good and not so good games. Masterson, Tomlin and Carrasco and Talbot should produce 2 among them 2 long-term mid-rotation starters (probably Masterson and Carrasco). We need White and Pomeranz to lead the rotation; or -- unlikely -- sign or trade for a top starter. The current group of starters cannot win a dvision, or certainly a pennant, but will provide depth.

Cord Phelps - 2B - Indians

Indians manager Manny Acta said Wednesday that Cord Phelps will get the majority of the playing time at second base against right-handed pitching.
Orlando Cabrera started the season hot, but is batting just .150 over his last 60 at-bats. Phelps will be on the strong side of the platoon, so he is worth a flier in AL-only leagues. Of course, both players may eventually be pushed aside once the Indians deem Jason Kipnis ready for the big leagues.

Phelps with an inauspicious start. With Choo on third and 2 outs, he swings at the first pitch he sees and grounds out to second. How about taking a pitch or two. Give Pavano a chance to throw a wild pitch, balk or get a passed ball from the catcher
