Like HB said in the Gametime folder, I also do not want Brantley even near the field until this issue is as close to 100% as possible.

For example, if the team goes into a slump and he wants to come back to help, no way until truly medically ready.

I had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder last June. I had to rehab for 6 months, only allowed to lift very light weights. And was not permitted by doctor to work at all for 6 months.

After 6 months I was let go from rehab and told to continue lifting, and gradually go to heavier weights. But that it would be 1 full year before I was back to 100%.

So for the Indians to tell the media that they hoped he would be ready to play in 5 to 6 months was ridiculous. I know Brantley was pushing hard and dying to get out there but sometimes you have to save a guy from himself.

There were times after months I was feeling good and pushed it and then my shoulder killed me for a week. My rehab guy read me the riot act. Told me I would be shocked how many guys end up re-tearing their labrum or whatever was corrected by doing too much too soon.

Brantley shouldn't have been allowed to push it too soon. Just damn lucky he didn't reinjure himself ... if he didn't.

It's back on the Tribe to end the Cleveland championship drought. This time could do it, although if they make through the AL which is seriously possible, they'll run across the Cubs in a battle of the desperate franchises and again will be the underdog both in terms of talent and love of the American fans.

8 games over, pretty heady stuff for June 12.

And, for the first time in recent memory, I looked at the matchups for the upcoming 3 game set with the Royals and liked it.

2 of 3 would be great way to end a promising road trip.
