I'd like to make a trade for Adrian Beltre to shore up third base and take Aviles/Chisenhall's spots in that lineup.

If the Indians could somehow sign Victor, they could have a pretty nice line up
Obviously I would agree there. That said, he is coming off the best year of his career and is only a DH.

This team needs defense as well as offense. That kind of money would be best spent elsewhere IMWO.

The exception would be if Victor took discount....doubtful.

The focus for the brass this off season is to find a way to beat the teams in this division.

How about if this team could hit a little and play a little defense. However the lack of steroids the analytically based defensive shifts the general lack of talent in the sport and the rise of relief pitchers all throwing 99 for an inning have just about ruined the sport.

The only thing that would be worse would be national league ball which every 9 AB's is an automatic out.

For the record I think football is ruined as well for a multitude of reasons.

Been hearing a lot about a team option for Swisher for the 2017 season. ESPN says that there is an easily obtainable vesting option for Swisher for 2017.

A source told ESPN that Swisher agreed to a four-year, $56 million contract that also includes a $14 million option for a fifth season that will "easily vest, making the potential total value of the contract $70 million.

Hey, Hoynsie: In what year does the Tribe have the option to get out of the Nick Swisher contract? – Petyr Baelish, Cleveland.

Hey, Petyr: They don’t have an option to get out of the Swisher contract. The Indians and Swisher are in the second year of a four-year $56 million deal. It could be a five-year deal worth $70 million if Swisher gets 550 plate appearances in 2016, and passes a physical at the end of the season, to vest a $14 million option for 2017.

The Indians could try to trade Swisher, but right now he doesn’t have a whole lot of value. I think they’re committed to playing Swisher and waiting for him to come around at the plate and in the field. He’s been a consistent performer over the last nine years, averaging 25 homers and 81 RBI per season, and I think he’ll stay the course this year.
