Gatta beat the Astros, Twins and the suspended game with KC. Then it might get interesting again!!!!!
I don't care who wins as long as KC or Detroit sweep this weekend!!!
Re: General Discussion
4817Well, if Salazar and House and Bauer can simply pitch as well as Kluber and Carrasco did the last two night [that's not asking for much] we will be back in the race.
Re: General Discussion
4818No doubt about it, barring injury, we have a starting rotation for next year. We have to bolster the offense!

4819John (Cincinnati, OH)
You a believer in Carrasco going forward?
Klaw
(1:08 PM)
I had two criticisms of him as a prospect/young major leaguer. One was the lack of a good breaking pitch, which he seems to have solved with a very slight tweak to his slider. The other was his fastball command, which wasn't good and tended to spiral downward too quickly. Pitching exclusively from the stretch so he can better repeat his delivery seems to have solved that. So yes, I am.

Re: General Discussion
4820So we have two studs heading our rotation. Salazar and Bauer have plenty of promise Praying these guys don't get hurt we are the team no one wants to face in 2015.
Maybe the best strategy is to build the strongest possible defense and aim to win 2-1.

Re: General Discussion
4821Have to find the best right handed hitter that you can get that hopefully can field a position.
On a just throwing something out there thought.
Yankees need a replacement for Jeter. Do you offer them Ramirez if they agree to take Swisher (NY fan fav) also ?
Don't want to give up Ramirez but it would give you a solid amount of money to get that bat.

Re: General Discussion
4822Is Swisher actually a NY fan favorite? Maybe I hear from the wrong NYY fans*, but they seem to be glad to be rid of him.

Re: General Discussion
4823Ramirez is potentially expendable, but I like the idea of a Ramirez-Lindor DP combo.
How about offering the Yankees Kipnis, although of course he can't play shortstop. New York fans may not realize he's no longer Jewish.

I like that with the exception of when Bauer pitches. Probably need to score at least 5 or 6 from the second inning on.
Oh and the fact that you can't win if you don't score any runs.
Need a bat or two in the offense. Maybe one or two of those "professional hitters" they used to get. Is Harold Baynes still around? Or is that what Murphy was supposed to be?
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
Re: General Discussion
4826If Kipnis is trade bait, he would most likely go to Chicago, he is from there and they got rid of Beckham. Do they have any RH bat expendables?
And Hawk loves him.

Re: General Discussion
4827You are not going to get much for him until he shows he can come back from his injury. Right now he would be a dump trade and not a talent acquisition trade.
IMO, Ramirez because he can play short, on a rookie contract has more value then Kipnis this off season.

Re: General Discussion
4828When Francona went to the mound to remove Scott Atchison in the seventh inning and hand the ball to Rzepczynski, he made history. It was Francona's 541st pitching change this season, the most by any AL manager in the last 100 years.
Whose record did he break? His own of course. Last year Francona made 540 pitching changes.

4830Gotta win today and both Monday vs KC then we can see how things look.....
