Phil Hughes has 13 wins vs Corey Kluber's 14. I didn't realize Hughes finally was pitching like he had been projected to back when he was a typical overhyped Yankee minor leaguer.
Hughes' stats are good but not great. ERA 3.76. WHIP 1.21. Great K/BB ratio of 140/15. Homers allowed 11 in 158 innings. 2 years ago he surrendered 35.
Last three starts have been better: 1 run each time in 6 to 7 1/3 innings.
Cabrera has been OK for the Nats. hitting 267, surprisingly walking more than he ever has, but that could have something to do with sometimes batting just ahead of the pitcher. OPS is 774. 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homer. I don't miss him.
