I would have liked if Shapiro and Antonetti could have found more players who could drive the hanging curve balls all players get, but ours in the Shapiro years after steroids rarely do.

Shapiro and Antonetti could probably be prompted to go on a mission to hire Chad Everett from "Medical Center," though he died earlier this baseball season.

REPORT: Terry Francona To Manage Cleveland Indians

Weeks after firing manager Manny Acta, the Cleveland Indians have found the man. MLB insider Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Indians will introduce Terry Francona as their new manager at a press conference on Monday.

Francona has spent the last year as an analyst on Baseball Tonight after a tumultuous end to his run as manager of the Boston Red Sox. The Indians themselves are n the midst of turmoil as they couldn’t be further from the team they were this time last year. Despite missing the playoffs the last two years, the Indians were in great shape to make the postseason last year before collapsing.

Adding Francona, a guy who helped lead the Red Sox away from their epic collapses and to two World Series titles, seems to be the guy the Indians think will take their young and talented team to the next level.

Francona stated on last night’s broadcast of Baseball Tonight that his two options for next season were either to return to the highlight show or manage the Indians. Francona interviewed for the job not long after Acta was fired, and it now appears a decision has been made about the future of Francona. The question now is, much like the Cubs are hoping from Theo Epstien, can Francona recapture the Red Sox magic with the Indians and bring a world championship to the city of Cleveland?
