Re: Who is most responsible for the Indians poor record?
92Guess Chris Perez wants to vote for Manny Acta.

Re: PREDICTION TIME: Who will be the next Tribe manager?
94Only 3 votes so far, all for Alomar. The question is not who you want, just who you think will be chosen.VT'er wrote:No-one has voted yet?
Re: PREDICTION TIME: Who will be the next Tribe manager?
95I"d like Buck Showalter, but I voted for Alomar.
Re: PREDICTION TIME: Who will be the next Tribe manager?
96Bobby Valentine will be available, too. Anyone want to vote for him?
Re: PREDICTION TIME: Who will be the next Tribe manager?
97Since moment one. If available, Showalter would have been really good.
Re: PREDICTION TIME: Who will be the next Tribe manager?
98JOE was a big promoter of Valentine, as I recall.
Re: PREDICTION TIME: Who will be the next Tribe manager?
99I thought we should have taken Showalter a few years back when he was associated with the Indians.
Re: PREDICTION TIME: Who will be the next Tribe manager?
100To heck with the manager choice.
I think the oldest Tribe fans, those in Florida, should decide if Shapiro and Antonetti stay. They should hold a formal vote.
I'll count the chads.

Re: PREDICTION TIME: Who will be the next Tribe manager?
101Well? So? Did you count them? How many Chads are on the ballot for the managerial post? Durbin? Bradford? Billingsley? Are they all pitchers?

102Yes I was JR.JOE was a big promoter of Valentine, as I recall.

I would have liked if Shapiro and Antonetti could have found more players who could drive the hanging curve balls all players get, but ours in the Shapiro years after steroids rarely do.
Shapiro and Antonetti could probably be prompted to go on a mission to hire Chad Everett from "Medical Center," though he died earlier this baseball season.

Francona has spent the last year as an analyst on Baseball Tonight after a tumultuous end to his run as manager of the Boston Red Sox. The Indians themselves are n the midst of turmoil as they couldn’t be further from the team they were this time last year. Despite missing the playoffs the last two years, the Indians were in great shape to make the postseason last year before collapsing.
Adding Francona, a guy who helped lead the Red Sox away from their epic collapses and to two World Series titles, seems to be the guy the Indians think will take their young and talented team to the next level.
Francona stated on last night’s broadcast of Baseball Tonight that his two options for next season were either to return to the highlight show or manage the Indians. Francona interviewed for the job not long after Acta was fired, and it now appears a decision has been made about the future of Francona. The question now is, much like the Cubs are hoping from Theo Epstien, can Francona recapture the Red Sox magic with the Indians and bring a world championship to the city of Cleveland?
