Re: Minor Matters

all 5 of those guys looked extremely good in 2024 and could project into valuable major leaguers. Farm system continues to produce letting them field a perpetually young perpetually cheap big league club

Re: Articles

Garcia is a reliever, a lefty and was not as ineffective as Cecconi,, but yeah, basically a young unproven pitcher for an established 1B who'll be making 8 figures

Re: General Discussion

I was surprised to see Carlos with something of a bounce back year with the Twins. Great guy: he volunteered to play LF, to play 3B, to do anything the team wanted. Impressed that at age 38 he won his first Gold Glove. I don't expect as productive an offensive season from him as we got last year fro...

Re: General Discussion

We've done fine without a lefty in most recent seasons. I don't care what arm they use if they're good they're good; if they're not they're not.

What is with Logan Allens anyway? One good season and done? They ought to be able to get Logan II back to big league form at least for the bullpen

Re: Articles

I went through Cecconi's game log for the Dbacks in 2024. He started out quite well in April but most of the rest of the season wet downhill. Several very effective starts so I guess he can, at times, be good. His history as a prospect: 2021 No. 6 for the Dbacks 2022 No. 12 2023 No. 14 2024 No. 16 E...

Re: General Discussion

I love Giminez's defense; could be one of the best ever at his relays. But we have 2nd basemen of quality just behind him so a trade was inevitable sooner or later Ortiz has the look of a solid addition to the rotation well ahead of his arbitration years. If we were deep in major league pitching the...

DALLAS — The Rule 5 Draft always comes at the end of the winter meetings, but it is hardly an afterthought to the people who prepare and execute it. “There’s a lot of preparation, a lot of unknowns and anxieties,” said Stephen Osterer, new Guardians director of player development. “It’s not super st...

Re: Minor Matters

If no one wanted Ryan Webb, I guess they agree with the Guardians that he's not a significant prospect, but I'm happy to have him on hand as a potential depth starter. Cairo is a surprise anyone would pick up but he plays all over the field is a good defender and has "great baseball genes"...

Re: Articles

The way trade was revealed was strangely piecemeal. It was a not unusual 3 team trade.
We swapped Giminez for a back end starter and 3 prospects of middle range. Makes sense whether we like it or not.

Re: General Discussion

Somewhere I saw a suggestion, admittedly risky, that the Guardians consider trading All World Closer Clase, who has an appealing contract, top of his market value, plenty of possibly capable replacements in the Cle pen, for a starter of somewhat similar quality. Worth considering. How many closers h...
