Cleveland #Guardians 20yr old switch-hitting (SS) prospect Angel Genao will begin his 2025 season at Double-A Akron.

Genao is currently still out at Goodyear dealing with a minor injury. He should be back near the end of April.

Looks like it but I did not make that rule up. I still think that something like Rodriquez was told he was demoted but the procedure was not actually completed.

In MLB, a player optioned to the minors must remain there for a minimum of 10 days (for position players) or 15 days (for pitchers) before being eligible for recall.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:

I think that Martinez (not sure) could not be added back to the major league roster for a period of time. Few days or a week after being sent down.

Logan Allen will be the Guardians' fifth starter. Tanner Bibee, Gavin Williams, Luis Ortiz and Ben Lively round out the rest of the rotation.

The decision is about options and not Spring Training.

Lots of middle IF depth remains with Brito and Martinez in Columbus; Genao moving up; Francisca rising far below. And OF depth is thin so it makes some sense but not a lot.
